What are the steps for the ROAD TO RECOVERY.  Brief introduction to the insurance process and what needs to be done in order to get your life back to normal.

Basic information regarding how your insurance policy works. What is the responsibility of your insurance company and what is your (the home Owner) responsibility?   

Your policy shows a limit for what the insurance company will pay you to rebuild your structure.  This is the building itself and any detached buildings you had damaged on your property.

Your policy shows a limit for what the insurance company will pay you to replace your belongings damaged or lost in a fire.  The insurance company will pay only what the belongings are worth.  Documentation (photos) of all your belongings is a great way to show the insurance company items lost or damaged.

Your policy shows a limit for what the insurance company will pay you for temporary housing.  This could be a rental house or even a trailer located on your property.  

The demolition process clarifies what procedures will be taken to get the site prepped and ready for a new structure.  Coordination with local county and city building department is key.

Before the reconstruction can begin, there are several steps to getting the process started.  Plans, permits, city fees, utility verification and materials all need to be scheduled and completed.

You as the home owner are the boss!  You have control of the construction process with help from your general contractor and claims adjuster.   Selecting the right team is critical in the final process of getting back to normal.
